The University of Maryland is a public research university in College Park, Maryland just outside of the nation’s capital. With an estimated enrollment of over 37,000 students, the school is the largest university in the Washington, D.C. region. The school has more than 100 majors for undergraduate students and over 120 programs for graduate students. As a Maryland student, it is important to have options on where to buy your textbooks. Luckily there are several options to compare prices and find the best deals. Here are some places to look:

The University Book Center is the University of Maryland’s official campus bookstore. It is situated in the center of campus in the University Book Center Warehouse in Building #383 on Paint Branch Parkway. Students can easily find the exact materials they need for their courses by visiting the store’s website and entering their course information. This is a great way to make sure that students get the correct editions of their course books. In addition, the store allows students to return their books for a refund if they have to drop a course – an incentive most online booksellers can’t offer. The bookstore also sells a wide range of school apparel for fans of the Terrapins. Items include Ralph Lauren polos, sweatshirts, and Under Armour gear. Other school supplies can be purchased, including notebooks, calculators, and backpacks. Looking to save money on expensive computer software? Students who shop at the University Book Center can receive up to an incredible 85% off on select software programs. Many of the store’s items are also available for purchase online.

The Maryland Book Exchange has some history in the College Park community as it has supplied textbooks to Maryland students since 1936. It offers a different outlet to purchase books and sells textbooks at more reasonable prices compared to other stores. Located at 4500 College Avenue, this bookstore has a large selection of used books. It will pay cash for buybacks on textbooks as well. It is also known for selling some of the best Terrapins fan gear, such as clothing, banners, flags, and even footballs and basketballs sporting the Maryland logo.

BookHolders.com is a chain of bookstores with a location in Maryland’s College Park Center at 7417 Baltimore Avenue. This store sells and buys back textbooks and even shows exactly how much students have saved at their store compared to other local bookstores. The store will handle all sales of books and will even mail a check to the individual who originally put it up for sale at the store. BookHolders.com has a Facebook page specifically for Maryland students with updates about in-store discounts and special contests for students.
