The University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia is one of the oldest public universities in the United States. The school was founded in 1785. It currently enrolls over 34,000 students and offers 79 degree programs in a variety of studies. Students at Georgia can pick among several different places when buying textbooks. The following is information about each of these local stores:

The University of Georgia Bookstore is the official bookstore at the university. It’s located at 100 Baxter Street right in the center of campus for students’ convenience. Open seven days a week, the UGA Bookstore supplies both new and used textbooks along with a host of other course materials and study aids to help students with their classes as much as possible. Are you a diehard Bulldogs fan? The store stocks tons of Bulldogs gear so you can root on the school’s sports teams in style. In addition, digital books, software, hardware, and gift certificates are available here. Discounts are available for UGA Alumni Association members.

Off Campus Bookstore is another option if you are looking for more used textbooks. This store is conveniently located at the top of Baxter Hill at 698 Baxter Street in Athens. Sometimes it’s fun to venture away from campus and explore other options when buying your books. Off Campus Bookstore, which has served UGA students for over 25 years, has an inventory that includes a huge amount of used books for students in all majors. You can save up to 25% on used books by shopping at this store. Tech services are also available if you need computer repair or maintenance if you’re having technical issues and have to type up your term paper on a deadline.

Beat The Bookstore is a college textbook store with locations at several schools in the U.S. It has one at 5108 Baxter Street in downtown Athens, an easy place to stop in for all UGA students. You can buy, sell, or rent textbooks here and also sell your books back for some of the lowest prices around. Remember that this store is trying to “beat” the prices of all other stores, so you know you’ll get a good deal.

East Campus Bookstore at 2301 College Station Road in Athens provides new and used books in a location away from the occasionally frenzied atmosphere of campus. Take a step east and check out this store, which is open earlier and later during peak times at the beginning of each semester. The store’s website offers e-mail discounts. Along with UGA, the store also serves Athens Tech and Gainesville State College.

Finally, the nationally respected Barnes & Noble always has something for every college student. B&N has a store in Athens in the Athens Promenade at 3650 Atlanta Highway. An assortment of items at this store make it a one-stop shop for books, accessories, and even the Nook e-reader.
