Miami University, sometimes called Miami of Ohio, is a large public research university in Oxford, Ohio, and should not be confused with the University of Miami in Florida. Miami of Ohio is the 10th oldest public university in the United States and the second oldest such school in the state of Ohio. It was originally established in 1809. The school currently has a systemwide enrollment of over 20,000 students. Miami students realize the importance of shopping around for their textbooks. The following stores are great places to check for textbooks on and around campus:

The Miami University Bookstore is the official textbook outlet at the school. It’s housed inside the Phillip R. Shriver Center on campus at 701 East Spring Street. The store is fully stocked with new and used textbook options for students. There are also rental options on certain books. In addition, you can order books online through the store’s website. Other merchandise available includes school spirit items, gifts, souvenirs, sportswear, and school supplies. The primary benefit of shopping here is that you will receive the right versions of the books you need. Plus it’s easy to simply type in your class schedule on their website and get a list of materials you need instantly.

Follett’s Miami Co-Op Bookstore at 110 East High Street in downtown Oxford is another good option for textbooks. This store may have a few more choices on how to get your books. They are available for purchase as new books, used books, or digital books. There are also many books available for rent. In addition, there is an e-mail newsletter you can sign up for to receive special offers and discounts on items. The store is open every day of the week, making it convenient for students to shop when they have time because of how busy students always are. MU athletics merchandise, school supplies, and discounted technology products are for sale as well.

The DuBois Book Store is a fantastic off-campus bookstore worth checking out. Serving Miami students, faculty, and alumni since 1945, the store has a great reputation for offering low prices on all of its items. The store is located at 118 East High Street in Oxford. They offer new and used books along with options to reserve books to avoid the mad rush. Plus you can rent books and save up to 50% off the regular book price. Other items on sale include graduation items, clothing, and gift cards. They are open seven days a week and are even open late most Sunday nights.

Half Price Books at 3185 Princeton Road in nearby Hamilton is only about a 20-minute drive from campus. It’s really worth visiting because of their large selection of pre-owned books. Plus they sell lots of other general books as well as music and other merchandise. Overall, their inventory is vastly reduced in price compared to other stores.
