Western Kentucky University, sometimes known simply as WKU, is a large public university in Bowling Green Kentucky. The school was officially founded in 1908 and currently enrolls over 20,000 students per year. The athletic teams at Western Kentucky are called the Hilltoppers. When it comes to textbooks, WKU students are aware of the importance of shopping around to get the best bargains on textbooks. The following stores are the best places to shop for books in the local Bowling Green area:
The WKU Store is the official bookstore serving the Western Kentucky University community. This store is on the third floor of the Downing University Center in the heart of the main Bowling Green campus. This store supplies all the academic materials for students, including new and used textbooks, study guides, course supplements, and workbooks. The main benefit of shopping here is that you know you are buying the correct editions of the books for your classes to be sure you’re prepared when the semester begins. The store’s website can give you an instant quote on any used books you have, and you can sell back these books to the store should you decide the quote is fair. You can also reserve textbooks before actually picking them up. Hilltoppers gear, school supplies, and various technology items are available for purchase as well.
A great off-campus store for textbook in downtown Bowling Green is University Textbook & Supply at 102 Bookstore Way. It’s just a short drive from the center of the WKU campus. UTS has some of the best prices in town on textbooks and college supplies. You can e-mail your class list to the store, and a representative can reserve your books and get back with you with all the possible options. Along with the traditional new and used books, you can also rent textbooks here. The store has a free e-mail newsletter that includes specials and discounts on books. UTS also has extended hours at peak times. In addition, you can sell back your books to the store for a great price.
Barnes & Noble’s stores are always stocked with the latest books and the best quality. There is a B&N store in Bowling Green in the Campbell Lane Town Center at 1680 Campbell Lane. B&N has lots of academic books, especially for English majors and students taking literature courses. The store also has a variety of school supplies. Barnes & Noble is known for its Nook e-reader, which is a handy device for college students who read their textbooks electronically. You can purchase a Nook here.
