Georgetown University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the United States. Founded in 1789, it is located in our nation’s capital of Washington; D.C. Georgetown enrolls over 16,000 students each academic year with a fairly large population of postgraduate students. Georgetown has several athletic teams known as the Hoyas that compete in several athletic conferences, including the Big East. Georgetown students have a few options on where to purchase their textbooks. These are the best places to shop for books:

The official on-campus bookstore is the Georgetown University Bookstore. It’s located right on campus at 3800 Reservoir Road Northwest. This store is fully stocked with all of the necessary materials that students need to make A’s in their classes. The inventory includes books for both undergraduate and graduate students. You can pick up new, used, rental, and digital textbooks from this store and through its website. There is a special section entirely dedicated to health science textbooks. Open seven days a week, most of the items for sale in the store are available for purchase online. Other merchandise incudes discounted computer hardware and software, Georgetown Hoyas athletic gear, general books, and school supplies. Be sure to register for the bookstore’s free e-mail newsletter on its website to receive special offers and updates on items.

A nice off-campus option for books is at the Maryland Book Exchange. This store is located in nearby College Park, Maryland is only a short 25-minute drive from the Georgetown campus. Open since 1936, the Maryland Book Exchange has a great reputation for serving college students in the D.C. and Maryland area. Located at 4500 College Avenue, this bookstore has a wide selection of new and used books at great low prices. The store also will pay cash for buybacks on textbooks, and the buyback rates are very competitive. This store also serves University of Maryland students.

There is also a Barnes & Noble store in downtown Washington D.C. Situated at 555 12th Street Northwest, this bookstore has a tremendous inventory of books on all subject matters. This includes a large selection of new textbooks and academic materials that are commonly used in undergraduate courses at Georgetown University. B&N also offers the popular Nook e-reader, which is almost a must for college students who have digital textbooks and want to read them on it. The B&N website has even more textbooks for sale.
