The Alabama State University Bookstore is the official on-campus bookstore at ASU. Situated in the heart of the school’s campus at 1235 Carter Hill Road, the Alabama State University Bookstore carries everything you need for all of your classes. Open Monday through Saturday, you can either bring your class schedule into the store or enter your class info on its website to find out which books you need from the bookstore for each of your courses. Most books can be purchased online as well. The choices for books include new, used, rentals, and digital. There is also a special health science textbook section at the actual store. Along with textbooks, you will also find plenty of school supplies, graduation items, Hornets apparel, and other useful items that college students need to be successful academically. When you order online, there is a flat rate on shipping and free shipping for orders over $200. Pre-order your books to make sure you get the ones you really want – and need.

A nice off-campus option in downtown Montgomery is Collegiate Bookstore. Located at 163 Lee Street, Collegiate Bookstore has served students in the Montgomery community for over 20 years. The store is independently owned and employs knowledgeable staff – including students. They know what their fellow students want, and that is reasonably priced textbooks. Although Collegiate Bookstore primarily serves Troy University students in the area, it offers tons of books and course supplies for Alabama State University students, too. You can pick up lots of your books here for cheaper prices than what you’d pay elsewhere. There are also cool discounts to take advantage of on the store’s website. Plus you can reserve your books early or sell your used books to the store to reclaim some of the money you spent on them originally.

Books-A-Million has a store in Montgomery at 1537 Eastern Boulevard. Although Books-A-Million doesn’t specialize in selling lots of textbooks, you will find a variety of them in the store, particularly if you are an undergrad who is taking more general education classes like English, literature, history, or science. The company has a much larger online selection of textbooks to check out.
