Prairie View A&M University is a public institution of higher education that is located in Prairie View, Texas, just outside of the Houston metro area. Prairie View A&M, also abbreviated as PVAM, was first established in 1876, making it one of the older schools in the state of Texas. The school is historically black and has a rich history in the Prairie View area. Today it has an annual student enrollment of over 8,600. More than 400 faculty members make up the academic staff at Prairie View A&M. The school’s sports teams compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), and the teams are known as the Panthers. Purple and gold are the official school colors. In terms of textbooks, Prairie View A&M students have the following options on where to get their books:

The Prairie View A&M University Bookstore is the school’s on-campus outlet for textbooks that serves both students and faculty members alike. Housed inside the Memorial Student Union in the center of campus, this bookstore is fully stocked with all of the course materials for students. Whether you prefer buying or renting your textbooks, the store has both options for you. New, used, and digital books are available for purchase. A large number of textbooks can be rented as well, and renting books can save you over 50% off what you’d spend to buy your books. Make sure you check out the store’s technology section that includes lots of computer items that are for sale at educational rates. If you’re in the market for a new laptop, for example, you should seriously consider getting it here. Plus you can pick up graduation supplies, alumni gifts, athletic gear to root on the Panthers with, and all kinds of other college-related merchandise like school and dorm must-haves. When you shop here, you know you are getting the right stuff.

Since there just aren’t many bookstores located in the Prairie View, Texas area, you should look into getting some of your textbooks online. One of the most efficient ways to do this is to use Textbooks.org’s price comparison tool. Just type in the title or the ISBN of the book you are searching for, and Textbooks.org will pull up a list of where you can either buy or rent that textbook. With a constantly increasing number of online sites offering textbooks for rent, it’s really worth looking into renting your books if you they aren’t available for rent at the campus bookstore.
